The Wild Light : Portraits

The Wild Light

In his portrait work, Jazay explores unusual combinations of lighting and optics to bring out the individual personality and beauty of his subjects.
But while the resulting images are steeped in the history of photographic technique, it’s really all about the moment.
Like in a free jazz improv, the interaction between photographer and model may lead to last minute changes. David may decide to change the location, knock the lighting setup on the head, or even handhold an assortment of simple lenses to achieve the desired effect. It is painting with light in its purest, primeval sense.
The only constant is the joint quest for an inner truth, an inner beauty in each subject, as different in their individuality as they may be.
The wild light shines on beautiful people.
