A showing in September, at\u00a0Dublin&#8217;s RECDP, as part of Culture Night 2016, was sold out in advance. I am moved by the appreciation garnered by\u00a0the film, and\u00a0hope to keep bringing the film to audiences in Ireland and worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n<h3>January 25, 2016 :<\/h3>\n<h3>Berlin premiere of &#8220;Bargaintown&#8221; announced for March 17<br \/>\nPlease book your tickets in time.<\/h3>\n<p>After a successful Dublin run of my restored 1988 film &#8220;Bargaintown&#8221;, we also have a Berlin premiere.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBargaintown\u201d is a poetic documentary on life along the Liffey Quays in the late 1980s. Featuring interviews with shopkeepers, antique dealers and local residents, it is a testament to the lives and opinions of a vanished Dublin, years before the celtic tiger changed the very fabric of the inner city.<br \/>\nHighlights include an auction at Tormey brother\u2019s, a night of song and dance at the old Workingmen\u2019s club on Wellington quay, and performances by veteran bluesman Frank Quigley.<\/p>\n<p>The press found Bargaintown to be \u201cunbiased and unabashed, concerned and affectionate, and stunningly photographed\u201d (Cork Film Festival), \u201ca remarkable documentary\u201d (Mary Leland), and \u201cworth watching\u201d (David O\u2019Connell, Cork Examiner).<\/p>\n<p>The Irish Times&#8217; Tara Brady gave it a 4 star review.<\/p>\n<p>Bargaintown will open this years Shebeen Flick Festival.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n<h3>October 2, 2015 :<\/h3>\n<h3>Dublin premiere of &#8220;Bargaintown&#8221; (2015 restoration)<br \/>\nScreening at IFI Docfest a sold-out success<\/h3>\n<p>Thank you for making the Dublin premiere of my newly restored 1988 film &#8220;Bargaintown&#8221; such a resounding success.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBargaintown\u201d is a poetic documentary on life along the Liffey Quays in the late 1980s.
